AUSTERITY WTF
Posters depicting how austerity in the UK has affected a specific targeted area. I decided to look at low wages for young people and how there is a huge gap between those who are under and over 25. It is targeted at retail shops known for their low wages and zero hour contracts.

The posters are inspired by Ad Busters who mock current adverts by copying their style but changing the message of it, to raise awareness about an issue. I incorporated this into my design by making a fashion-like poster targeted at young people who will pick up on the style, assume it's an advert for a clothing brand but soon realise it's the opposite.

My posters are a less aggressive way of raising awareness and protesting against an issue however still make the reader think and affect them in a different way.

The work for our class was exhibited at the Oxo Towers' Bargehouse for the Ravensbourne Transitions exhibition. It showcased our individual posters, our group typography work and a shop with some posters for sale.
